Role Description/Criteria

Applications are sought for the position of Careers Practitioner to commence as soon as practicable (part-time 0.80 FTE, negotiable). The Careers Practitioner provides career information, educational planning, and resources to assist students. A Certificate IV or Graduate Certificate in Careers Education is required.

Overview of the Role

The Careers Practitioner collaborates with the Career Leader and the Senior Pathways Team to provide career information, educational planning, and resources to support students' future pathways. The role includes guiding staff in implementing programs and curriculum to help students develop skills for transitioning between school, work, and further education, promoting engagement and positive outcomes.

The practitioner assists in managing and administering the Pathways Department and is a key member of the Careers and Pathways Teams, working under the direction of the Vice Principal – Learning and Teaching and reporting to the Careers Leader. The goal is to support students in making career decisions and developing lifelong learning skills.

Major Responsibilities

* Implement the Pathways Program across the College to support career and education pathways.
* Assist students in developing pathway plans with input from families, staff, and industry stakeholders, including providing professional support, pathways discernment, and subject advice.
* Support programs that promote exploration of job pathways, such as SWL, work experience, short courses, and volunteering.
* Perform other duties as requested by the Principal or College Improvement Team.

Salary and Application Procedure

The salary ranges from $75,828 to $98,708 per annum plus 12% superannuation, according to CEMEA 2022 standards.
