Job Title: Manager - Model Validation
About the Role:
As a vital member of our Capital & Risk Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in model risk oversight within a dynamic and highly regarded organisation.
The Manager - Model Validation role sits within the second line of defence, providing independent validation of models used across the business, ensuring they are robust, well governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
* Independently validate pricing, valuation, and experience study models, assessing design, assumptions, inputs, outputs, and performance.
* Produce clear, high-quality validation reports; communicate findings to stakeholders; and track remediation actions to resolution.
* Support and enhance the model risk management framework, including model classification and inventory maintenance.
* Prepare model risk reports for senior management and contribute to governance committee discussions.
* Collaborate with actuarial and business teams to provide challenge, oversight, and guidance on model development and usage.
* Contribute to broader risk management activities, including reviews of new transactions, risk strategies, and ad hoc projects.
Candidate Profile:
* A qualified actuary with 3–5+ years' experience in insurance or reinsurance.
* Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp new modelling platforms or languages.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills with confidence to challenge stakeholders.
* High attention to detail; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with R, Prophet, Excel/VBA is an advantage.
