Responsibilities
Maintain and repair commercial vehicles ensuring they are roadworthy and in good working order.
Maintain and repair plant vehicles to ensure they are in good working order.
Diagnose vehicle breakdowns.
Manage repair priorities in association with the Transport Manager.
Maintain paperwork related to maintenance of commercial and plant vehicles.
Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with statutory Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
Keep the garage clean and orderly.
Carry out effective maintenance of fixed plants and equipment, including managing spare parts and preventative maintenance schedules with the maintenance team.
Qualifications / Skills Required
3 years' experience working in a busy garage, ideally on commercial HGV vehicles.
Full / Part-qualified Mechanic or proven experience in HGV repairs and maintenance.
