Staff Nurse (St Clare's Ward Medical) - Part Time, 23 Hours per Week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse (St Clare's Ward Medical) to join the Bon Secours Health System Hospital Galway, Ireland’s largest private healthcare provider.
Job Purpose:
Staff nurses are responsible for providing high-standard nursing care to patients, applying the nursing process, and using scientific knowledge, judgment, and technical skills to deliver care to a patient population ranging from paediatric to elderly.
Ideal Candidate:
* Ability to work as part of a team providing quality service
* Personally and professionally accountable for patient care
* RGN qualification and NMBI registration
* Three years post-registration experience
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Flexible approach to work patterns, including rotation between days and nights
Essential Qualifications:
* Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais or entitled to be registered
* At least 3 years nursing experience post-registration, preferably in acute medical/surgical areas
Experience & Responsibility:
* Carrying out nursing care and treatments to the highest standard according to policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Participating in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care based on the nursing process; maintaining appropriate records; implementing discharge planning based on patient needs
* Administering medicines, IV drugs, blood/blood products, and controlled drugs according to policies; recording and monitoring post-administration; reporting adverse events or medication errors
* Adhering to infection control guidelines, reporting and managing infections, and correctly disposing of medical waste as per hospital policy
