About St. Joseph's Foundation
St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The Foundation provides services to children and adults, through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day and residential services in various locations in the North Cork and South Limerick area; such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown and Mallow, in Limerick; Ballylanders, Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff, Croom, Dromcollogher, Granagh, Kilmallock, and Liskennett.
Position Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic Locum Social Care Workers (SCW's) to join our team and provide high-quality care across the Foundation. You will help cover staff annual leave and sickness, ensuring continuity of excellent patient care.

Requirements
* A HETAC-accredited Diploma/Degree in Social Care, or a qualification in Nursing (RNID), or eligibility for CORU registration under the standards of proficiency (www.coru.ie/social-care-workers)
* Experience working with adults or children with intellectual disabilities
* A full driver's licence (Desirable)

Responsibilities
* Care for the day to day needs of the residents in compliance with the Health Care Act 2007 and associated regulations.
* Establish and maintain relationships with residents based on respect, equality, and promote their independence.
* Assist with physical care such as dressing and washing.
* Teach daily living and social skills to the residents.
* Assist residents with budgeting, banking and management of their personal finances.
* Facilitate residents to use leisure time tailored to their needs, with an emphasis on community integration.
* Housekeeping – cooking, shopping, cleaning, looking after each resident’s clothes and effects, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the residence.
* Administer and record prescribed medication.
* Foster integration and provide social opportunities for residents within the local community.
* Ensure that day/residence areas are kept safe and tidy.
* Purchase and budget household monies, making local purchases where possible.
* Keep records and reports as deemed necessary.
* Foster a spirit of welcome to all visitors, including parents, families, neighbours, and guests.
* Attend meetings, case conferences, etc., as required.
