Individuals in MCA are responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive and robust Managers Control Self-Assessment (MCA), also known as Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and the execution of control activities thus improving identification and remediation of significant control issues and operational risk events in a timely manner. As well as covering MCA activities broadly, specific focus will be on performing in-depth analysis of MCA data for both our central and FLU managers. The MCA AI & Innovation Sr. Lead Analyst will be part of the Cross Program Optimization and Innovation team which is responsible for Process Optimization efforts across the MCA and Process Management space. This includes the design, implementation, and governance of AI solutions to drive efficiencies, enhance quality, and expand coverage across the bank.
Responsibilities
Design and implement AI solutions within the MCA and Process Management organization that deliver improved process efficiency by automating manual tasks, enhanced quality with preventative AI drive QC checks, expand coverage by allowing for AI driven full population testing and review as opposed to sampling, and more meaningful insights about the risk and control environment through AI supported analytics and analysis.
On-going governance and maintenance of existing AI tooling to ensure that it remains fit for purpose and is properly controlled.
Coordinating with other AI development teams within Citi and the Central Controls Organization to properly leverage existing solutions and avoid duplication of efforts.
Stay up-to-date on latest developments in AI tooling at Citi through participation in pilots, AI forums, and trainings.
Manage the execution of control activities in support of Managers Control Self-Assessment (MCA) program, also known as Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
Manage the MCA program, including the annual/semi-annual/quarterly/monthly attestation, quality oversight and related reporting.
Take ownership to identify, analyze, and assess potential risks, ensuring timely identification and remediation of significant control issues and operational events.
Drive the execution of the MCA in accordance with the ORM Policy & Framework, as well as applicable Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
Develop and maintain ORM tools and methodologies to support accurate and consistent assessments of the risk and control environment.
Consistently monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate effectiveness of the risk and controls.
Propose enhancements or improvements as necessary to the MCA.
Implement a robust tracking and reporting MCA inventory including key metrics to provide visibility on the status of control gaps and MCA quality control processes, highlighting risk and escalating concerns in a timely manner.
Champion MCA best practices transformation, and execution consistency across business/functions.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.
Designated Super User for Citi AI tools.
Understand how AI tools can be leveraged to semi-automate manual processes, controls, testing & monitoring, and analytics to drive efficiencies, improve quality, and expand coverage.
Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls.
Track record leading Control related projects and programs.
Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
Develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
Comprehensive knowledge of Citi’s businesses and functions and their risk profiles.
Developing new ideas and improving current processes to proactively mitigate risks.
Requires an ability to provide challenge and make recommendation for risk and controls remediation.
Expert knowledge in the development and execution for controls.
Proven experience in control related functions in the financial industry.
Proven experience in implementing sustainable solutions and improving processes.
Expert understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
Deep understanding of Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
Ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with strong results orientation.
Excellent communication skills; ability to engage and inspire across stakeholder groups.
Exceptional command in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
