As a Senior Engineering Supervisor at Medtronic, you will lead the Manufacturing Engineering team within the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Your responsibilities include ensuring production goals for people/safety, quality, service and cost are met through high‑maturity manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering team in the development and implementation of processes and activities in production area(s) to meet production goals for people/safety, quality, service and cost.
Effectively communicates with teams and their reports; leading daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to manage the business and share information.
Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures.
Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned area.
Encourages and facilitates beneficial resolution of issues across the department, effectively mediates conflict to promote a friendly climate, good morale, and team cohesiveness.
Partners with functions to drive a continuous improvement environment.
Identifies opportunities to improve on how we support our customers and fosters a culture of innovation, identifying innovative solutions to process problems and actively encourages team members to share new ideas and fresh approaches.
Responsible for team's professional development to promote engagement, growth, job satisfaction and organisational health.
Works, manages and engages remotely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
Collaborates across Medtronic to ensure best practices are employed in product, process and tooling design and development.
Key Skills & Experience
Minimum Level 8 Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline preferred.
4-6 years supervisory or operations support experience in a highly regulated environment.
Experience working in the medical device field will be an advantage.
Demonstrated leadership with strong team development, communication and influencing skills.
Strong problem solving and project management skills.
IT proficiency (knowledge of SAP an advantage).
Good interpersonal skills are essential and must be a team player.
