Specified Purpose Contract: Maternity Leave Cover

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum Location: Dublin

At EPIC, we tell the story of how the Irish shaped the world — and every visitor journey begins with a booking. Our Reservations team plays a vital role in welcoming guests, supporting tour operators and education groups, and ensuring every experience runs smoothly from first enquiry to arrival.

We're looking for a friendly, organised and commercially minded Reservation Sales Agent to join our Reservations and Sales team on a Specified Purpose Contract, covering a maternity leave of absence.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of Ireland's leading cultural attractions while supporting a busy and visitor-focused department.

About the Role

As a Reservation Sales Agent, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the reservations function through prompt, accurate and professional service. You'll support group and FIT bookings, respond to enquiries, and work closely with Visitor Experience and Operations teams to deliver a seamless experience for all guests.

The start date for this maternity cover role will be 1st April 2026

What you'll do

Reservations & Customer Service

* Manage public, education, trade group and FIT reservations, ensuring accurate processing in the booking system
* Handle booking amendments, cancellations and general visitor enquiries by phone and email
* Respond to incoming enquiries from corporate clients, tour operators, travel agents and group organisers
* Provide clear, welcoming information about EPIC and related visitor experiences

Sales & Relationship Support

* Support revenue growth through proactive booking management and upselling where appropriate
* Build positive relationships with key accounts across leisure, education and travel trade segments
* Ensure smooth communication and coordination ahead of group arrivals

Operational Coordination & Reporting

* Provide regular updates to the Visitor Experience team throughout the day
* Work closely with the Reservations Manager and Operations Team on capacity planning
* Produce and distribute operational and sales reports as required
* Support weekly and monthly sales forecasting and performance reporting

Systems & Administration

* Maintain accurate records across booking systems and CRM databases
* Assist with the upkeep of trade and client databases
* Carry out additional administrative tasks and ad hoc duties as needed

What you bring

* Experience in reservations, sales support, customer service or hospitality/tourism environments
* Strong communication skills and a professional, visitor-first approach
* Excellent attention to detail and confidence managing multiple bookings and priorities
* Comfortable working with booking systems, CRM tools and reporting processes
* A proactive, collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a busy cultural attraction

If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to play a key role in delivering unforgettable visitor experiences at EPIC, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply for the job

Along with your CV please write a short cover letter, telling us why you would like to work in EPIC and why you think you would be a good fit for the role.

Note: This role is offered on a Specified Purpose Contract to provide maternity leave cover. The contract will end on the return of the post-holder from maternity leave, in accordance with the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act 2003. The duration of the contract is not fixed and will depend on the timing of the employee's return.
