The Role:
You will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence within the organization, leading by example and ensuring that quality assurance processes are fair, respectful, and constructive. Regular liaison with Departmental Managers and Operations Manager is essential to address quality assurance matters promptly and efficiently.
Innovative and flexible thinking is required to achieve continuous improvements in food safety and quality assurance. Encouraging and supporting ideas from colleagues, engaging them in the quality assurance process, is crucial to maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Key responsibilities include finding solutions to problems, demonstrating lateral thinking and objectivity, and ensuring the validity and appropriateness of the HACCP system for all products. Liaising and working with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine is also an essential aspect of this role.
Maintaining site GFSI certification standards is critical to the success of the organization. Therefore, you must have previous experience in food manufacturing quality management, preferably in a processing environment of prepared foods.
The Person:
To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant 3rd level qualification in Food Science or a related subject. Experience working with retailers and their audit requirements is essential, as well as experience of BRCGS certification audits. Strong IT skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office, are also required.
Project management, people management, and colleague management skills are essential to achieving results in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work on your own initiative, are vital. Good judgement skills and the provision of solutions to challenges are key to success in this role.
