Description: The Adult Day Service is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Disability Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with service users to support their daily care needs, mobility, and access to community services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support personal care needs of service users
">
* Facilitate access to services in the community and virtual day service
">
* Encourage opportunities for service users to develop options for training, employment, and greater community inclusion
">
* Work collaboratively with service owners to deliver daily programmes
">
* Contribute to the development of person-centred plans and key worker systems
">
">
Requirements:
">
">
* QQI Level 5 in Care Skills (including a module on special needs) or equivalent qualification
">
* Minimum of two years' experience working with adults with disabilities
">
* Full clean driving licence with no restrictions and willingness to drive organisation vehicles
">
* Eligibility to work in the state
">
* Effective communication skills and good recording practices
">
* Knowledge of the social model of disability
">
* Good understanding of Adult Protection and Lone Working
">
* Experience of working with adults in a day service setting
">
* Experience of working in a community setting
">
* Knowledge of person-centred planning and the Key Worker system
">
* Knowledge of New Directions guidelines
">
