Role
This role sits between a senior project manager and a process delivery lead—ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced plant setting rather than a greenfield construction environment.
The successful candidate will be a self‑starter, technically strong, and highly disciplined in project execution and documentation. They will manage projects from early funding justification through to implementation and handover, ensuring seamless integration into ongoing operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage process‑related projects within an active manufacturing environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans from concept through funding application, approval, execution, and closeout.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and external vendors.
Navigate the unique cadence of an operating plant—managing work that progresses in fits and spurts based on production priorities.
Ensure rigorous adherence to documentation standards, including project deliverables, change controls, validation packages, and handover documentation.
Drive risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and compliance with GMP and safety requirements.
Apply strong technical acumen to evaluate solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation of new or modified process systems.
Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence within the project portfolio.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience managing projects in a live, operational manufacturing environment—biopharma, pharma, medical device, or similar regulated industry preferred.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain momentum without excessive oversight.
Strong understanding of GMP operations and the constraints of executing projects in an active plant.
Experience managing projects from funding application through implementation and handover.
Comfortable with digital tools, data systems, and modern project management technologies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong organisational discipline with a track record of rigorous documentation completion.
