Let's Talk Newtownabbey is an exciting new initiative to promote speech, language and communication development in early years. It includes delivery of two evidence based programmes- Early Talk Boost and It's Time to Talk- in schools and nurseries. It also includes support for parents and professionals to embed the approach across the community.
Initial Specific Responsibilities
This Project Worker 2 role will focus on improving speech, language and communication through working with early years staff, children and their parents in the Let's Talk Newtownabbey programme.
This will include:
Building partnerships with professionals in local early years settings
Organising training for parents and professionals
Delivering speech and language programmes in early years settings
Engaging with parents and supporting them in their role as co-educators, through workshops, individual support and access to training
Supporting early years staff to implement speech and language programmes in different settings
Embedding a whole community approach to improving speech, language and communication
This is a term-time position of 22.5 hours per week, to be worked across three days.
Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 30 June 2027 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. This contract is due to expire on 30 June 2027.
