Hydrogeologist – WSP (Ireland)
Overview
WSP’s Ground & Water team is seeking a Hydrogeologist to support contaminant land assessment and remediation projects in Ireland. The role offers a chance to work with industry‑leading hydrogeology software, mentor junior staff, and contribute to high‑profile projects across the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
Develop conceptual hydrogeological models and source‑pathway‑receptor linkages.
Interpret hydrogeological and geological data and prepare detailed risk assessments for contaminated land and landfill.
Use simulation software (ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow, Seep/W) to model groundwater, pumping tests, yield tests and borehole prognosis.
Prepare factual and interpretive reports, reviewing and editing work from the senior team.
Lead dewatering, groundwater resource, pumping tests, abstraction and geothermal activities.
Manage hydrogeological data, develop conceptual models and oversee project tasks assigned by senior team members.
Communicate effectively with project teams, clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Postgraduate qualification (MTech, MSc or PhD) in hydrogeology or a related discipline.
Experience in preparing factual and interpretive reports as a contributing author.
Demonstrable experience in contaminant hydrogeology and risk assessment modelling using ConSim, RTM and LandSim.
Working knowledge of hydrogeological software (ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow, Seep/W).
Working towards Chartered status or having achieved it.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and with clients.
