Position DescriptionHGV Mechanic is responsible for carrying out the repair, maintenance and inspection of vehicles & plant and equipment in accordance with legislation guidelines, policies and procedures and manufacturer recommendations.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance up-keep and repair of HGV & LGV vehicles & equipment.General Application Certification of hoists and cranes.To complete work to a high standard in accordance with legislation guidelines, policies and procedures and report all defects to Lead Mechanic and/or Fleet Supervisor.To complete all work safely and contribute positively to the development of the team and self.To carry out tasks/responsibilities and test and certification of vehicles and equipment assigned in a timely and cost-effective manner.To provide excellent customer service.To maintain knowledge and skills in order to carry out full range of duties in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.To work well both as a team member and on own initiative to assist in the achievement of business objectives.EssentialExperience and QualificationsApplicants must have successfully completed a recognised and relevant Mechanical apprenticeship and have attained the appropriate Craft accreditation certificate with FAS/Solas in at least one of the following:Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.Motor Mechanic.Construction Plant Fitter - with relevant commercial vehicle experience.Agricultural Mechanics - with relevant commercial vehicle experience.Full clean EU driving licence and access to a car.
