Summary:
The Equipment Reliability Engineer is a key role in ensuring the site delivers improved line performance and enhances maintenance effectiveness.
This role reports to the maintenance organization and is central to the site's journey to world-class maintenance. A key responsibility is assessing recurring breakdowns and line performance issues, implementing solutions to eliminate root causes, leveraging HPS tools for sustained high equipment performance.
The role collaborates closely with the maintenance team and utilizes expertise across onsite functions and the wider Hollister network.
Responsibilities:
* Use line performance data to identify trends and causes of failures; develop and implement solutions addressing root causes.
* Utilize external benchmarks (e.g., AMIS) to identify strengths and weaknesses; work with management to develop improvement strategies.
* Mentor and coach maintenance and manufacturing teams to enhance reliability engineering capabilities.
* Assess maintenance costs to identify waste and develop cost-reduction solutions.
* Evaluate process and technical data, literature, and collaborate with support functions.
* Lead the implementation of HPS tools, especially PM, TPM, and QCO elements.
* Develop and enforce asset operation and maintenance plans to optimize asset utilization and efficiency.
* Ensure asset ABC analysis is up-to-date and accurate.
* Implement proactive maintenance approaches using risk assessment tools like FMEA and Reliability-Based Maintenance.
* Support Operator Asset Care principles to address performance issues early.
* Support CMMS system use, provide user training, and ensure standardization.
* Engage with the Hollister network to adopt best practices.
* Follow life cycle asset management processes and conduct root cause failure analysis.
* Collaborate with process and project engineering on maintenance and installation plans for new assets, ensuring reliability.
* Occasionally act as backup to the Maintenance Supervisor during absences.
Work Experience Required:
* Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a similar role within industry.
Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Essential Functions:
* Strong IT skills and proficiency with CMMS.
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma (beneficial).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate across functions and stakeholders.
* Innovative thinking for proposing and implementing new solutions.
* Understanding of safety and quality regulatory requirements.
* Results-driven with a focus on targets and metrics.
