Compute Analyst Contract Role Cork ( onsite )
My client is looking for an experienced Compute Analyst to join their team. This position will involve supporting the global security group initiatives, maintaining the security patch level of the infrastructure environment and across Cork and driving compliance with responsibility for required global controls testing for Cork.
Vendor management is key in this role with external support that we receive for several applications. A deep understanding of IT and its function to support manufacturing is required. There is also a responsibility to engage with 3rd party managed services vendors providing support to the compute, SQL and manufacturing systems environment in Cork.
3rd party vendor interaction and collaboration are essential in the role to renegotiate maintenance contracts; scope proposals for new solutions; request quotations; troubleshoot issues on existing solutions.
The Job
* Responsible for maintaining compute environment operational performance and stability across the Cork campus; ensuring resilience for the business; minimising downtime and incidents.
* Ensures the Cork compute infrastructure environment remains virus free and compliant with all global standards by managing the patching schedules and maintaining the relevant security tools including SEP and BigFix. Coordinates DR testing for all compute systems.
* Participates in compute and network projects as required. Responsible for completing all global controls testing and coordinating support for the SQL environment.
* Communicates to relevant IT and Business stakeholders on security metrics; expected to influence others to follow IT best practice & key processes. Coordinates and reports on compute financial spend for Technology team on a monthly and yearly basis.
Have you
* In-depth technical knowledge and integration experience is required across Compute, Network, Workplace Services & Security technologies.
* Strong history in Compute IT Operations with 5+ years' experience
* Previous experience collaborating, building relationships across multiple teams and vendors
* Degree/Masters in related area or relevant industry experience
* External certifications and qualifications required in these areas: Microsoft Windows OS, MS SQL, VMware, Cisco, Azure/Cloud
* 5 years min Work Place Services experience with good experience
* Expertise in stakeholder and third-party vendor management
* Proven history managing executive support
* Ability to engage and influence across business function
* Knowledge of teleconferencing technology
* Broad technical capability as well as excellent communicator
* Desirable to have in depth knowledge of processes, (e.g., change approvals, security assessments)
* Awareness of IT, business, and IT/OT governance strategies and wider priorities
* Project and integration experience on some/all the following: SAN Enterprise Storage management, Backup Appliances (Rubrik, Veritas), Tape libraries, ESXi hosts VMware environment, Cisco Switches, Cisco ISE, Active Directory and Group Policy admin, RDS/Citrix, Symantec, WSUS, BigFix, Patching & Vulnerability management, database management, Service-Now, Change Control, Problem/Incident Management, Vendor Access Management
