Job Description

The role of Mould Tooling Engineer is a critical one in the manufacturing process, responsible for developing and sustaining optimum molding processes for the production of regulated molded components.

This involves leading moulding/tooling activities for new product introduction to Cork Manufacturing Operations, including project management depending on scope and complexity.

The successful candidate will also be involved in coordinating with project leads for capital projects related to new moulding machines, mould tools, and auxiliary equipment, as well as initiating equipment and mould user requirement specifications, managing vendor selection, RFQs, and equipment/mould build processes.

Responsibilities:

* Leading moulding/tooling activities for new product introduction to Cork Manufacturing Operations
* Coordinating with project leads for capital projects related to new moulding machines, mould tools, and auxiliary equipment
* Initiating equipment and mould user requirement specifications, managing vendor selection, RFQs, and equipment/mould build processes
* Maintaining accurate documentation of project activities in line with quality and validation guidelines
* Supporting technology improvements for moulding processes for new and existing products
* Omitimizing processes using latest molding techniques, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and conducting feasibility trials/DOE's
* Ensuring new processes are designed for manufacturability, automation, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality and EHS standards
* Managing and executing production equipment transfers, including IQ & OQ, training, validation, troubleshooting, and documentation

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Polymer/Polymer Process Engineering or related field and advanced training in plastic injection molding processing; RJG Master Molder certification is preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in high-volume injection moulding is required, along with knowledge of medical device manufacturing, validation processes, robot programming, hot runner molds, diagnostics, and processing of engineering resins.

The successful candidate will also possess strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to interpret drawings and stay updated on moulding technology.
