 
        
        Job Title: Mechanical Estimator
As a Mechanical Estimator at a leading mechanical engineering contractor, you will work on large-scale industrial building projects across Ireland and the UK.
You will report to the Senior Estimator or the Estimating Manager and be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates in a timely manner.
Your tasks will include conducting in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc., performing accurate quantity take-offs and marking up measured drawings, requesting, managing, and evaluating supplier and sub-contractor quotations, issuing tender queries and RFIs, preparing costed bills of quantities, tender reports, tender pricing schedules, and other tender return documents, advising on potential value engineering opportunities, managing databases, attending meetings and site visits as required, and liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in either Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering, or other related fields. Previous mechanical cost estimating or design experience is desired, along with strong computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office. A strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems is necessary, as well as good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials.
Key qualifications include a degree in a relevant field, previous mechanical cost estimating or design experience, strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office, a solid understanding of mechanical and process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems, and good knowledge of different mechanical and process pipework materials.
