Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cork
Our client is seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the expanding team in Cork.
This role is critical to the successful delivery of projects throughout Ireland.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in MEP cost management, with experience in the pharma/life science industry.
Responsibilities
· Lead MEP cost management on various projects from pre-construction to final account.
· Prepare, manage and present accurate cost plans, estimates and cost reports.
· Support procurement strategy and tendering process for major MEP packages.
· Carry out commercial evaluations and contract negotiations with MEP subcontractors.
· Provide detailed cost analysis and value engineering solutions specific to power distribution systems, generator installations, UPS systems, and critical mechanical systems.
· Support the project team and client with advice on commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
· Attend and lead client meetings, design coordination meetings, and project reviews.
· Oversee change management processes and ensure that variations are captured, costed, and agreed in a timely manner.
· Work closely with the client, design teams, and contractors to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting and budget control.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying.
· Minimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying in pharmaceutical projects is an advantage.
· Strong understanding of commercial and contract administration within the construction sector.
· Excellent cost control, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel, MS Project).
