Overview
Our client is a global healthcare technology organisation delivering advanced clinical reporting and workflow solutions to hospitals and cardiac centres. They are seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to support the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of cardiology reporting and haemodynamic systems across hospital customers.
This role combines clinical cardiology knowledge, health IT systems expertise, and customer-facing training, working closely with clinicians, hospital IT teams, and internal sales and service functions.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Systems Implementation & Configuration
Configure and deploy cardiology clinical reporting systems, including echocardiography reporting, haemodynamic and catheterisation lab reporting, BCIS and cath lab data entry workflows, and customise system workflows to align with individual hospital clinical practices and reporting requirements.
Benchmark, test, and validate systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and readiness for clinical use prior to go-live.
Customer Training & Support
Deliver structured applications training to cardiologists, cardiac physiologists, nurses, technicians, and administrative users.
Instruct customers on system operation, best practices, and ongoing maintenance.
Act as the primary clinical and technical liaison for assigned customer projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve clinical and technical issues during and after implementation.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Perform operational quality checks and approve systems for clinical use.
Verify that implemented systems are fully functional, error-free, and compliant with clinical and operational standards.
Support installation, servicing, and maintenance of complex clinical equipment and integrated systems.
Commercial & Cross-Functional Support
Support sales activities, including product demonstrations and technical input for indirect sales channels.
Collaborate with sales, service, and product teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
Participate in cardiology user group meetings and professional forums to stay aligned with customer needs and industry trends.
Required Experience & Skills
Background in cardiology, cardiac physiology, cath lab operations, or clinical healthcare systems.
Experience with cardiology reporting systems, haemodynamic monitoring, or cath lab IT solutions.
Strong understanding of diagnostic cardiology procedures and workflows.
Proven experience delivering customer-facing training and clinical system implementations.
Ability to troubleshoot complex clinical and technical issues in live hospital environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both clinical and technical stakeholders.
Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Experience with echocardiography reporting systems.
Familiarity with BCIS data standards and cath lab registries.
Previous role with a healthcare IT vendor or medical device company.
