We are a fast-growing plastics recycling manufacturing business based in Co. Meath, supplying high-quality recycled materials to Irish and international markets.As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager to take full ownership of QEHS across our site.This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with full accountability for quality, safety, environmental compliance, sustainability and energy management performance. You will build, embed and continuously improve systems while remaining closely involved in day-to-day site operations, audits, regulatory compliance, contractor management and employee engagement.Why Join Us?This role offers genuine influence, visibility at senior leadership level and the opportunity to shape QEHS systems as the business scales significantly over the coming years.The RoleYou will be responsible for:Product quality and customer complianceEnvironmental regulation, sustainability and waste managementHealth & safety performance and legal complianceISO management systems (9001, 14001 and ISO 50001 implementation)Regulatory reporting and audit readinessDriving a strong safety, quality and sustainability culture on the shop floorYou will act as the primary site contact for auditors, regulators, customers and key stakeholders, working closely with the CEO and Operations leadership team.This role requires strong ownership, sound judgement and the ability to drive initiatives through to completion in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesQualityOwn and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemLead internal, customer and certification auditsManage non-conforming product, investigations and CAPAsApprove new raw materials and product specificationsSupport new product introduction from a quality perspectiveManage customer complaints and quality KPIsSupport upkeep and integration of relevant certificationsEnvironmental, Sustainability & EnergyOwn and maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management SystemLead the development, implementation and certification of the ISO 50001 Energy Management SystemEstablish energy baselines, monitoring systems and performance indicatorsDrive energy efficiency projects across production, utilities and facilitiesEnsure full compliance with Irish environmental legislation and permit conditionsManage waste permits, reporting obligations and CSRD inputsLead environmental risk assessments, aspects & impacts reviews and incident investigationsDrive sustainability initiativesOversee environmental controls including filters, abatement systems, drainage, bund integrity testing and emissions monitoring (air, noise, wastewater)Health & SafetyOwn the site Health & Safety Management System in line with Irish legislation and recognised best practiceMaintain and update Safety Statement, risk assessments and emergency plansLead accident reporting, investigations and statutory HSA reportingPlan and conduct emergency drillsManage contractor safety and permit-to-work systemsCoordinate and deliver safety training and inductionsDrive a strong behavioural safety culture across production and engineering teamsOperational Compliance (Hands-on Ownership)You will retain direct oversight and coordination of:Forklift testing, certification, daily checks and repairsStatutory inspections of safety equipment (alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, spill kits, first aid kits)Equipment calibration systemsWaste contractor management (baled waste, batteries, pallets, shredded wood, skips, hygiene waste, waste water, pest control etc.)Complete all regulatory reporting and ensure deadlines are met inline with requirements:Training booking and training record managementLegal register and legislation update servicesLeadership & CultureAct as a visible, trusted presence on the production floorCoach and influence managers and operators to take ownership of QEHS standardsBuild scalable systems to support company growthLead continuous improvement projects across safety, quality, environment and energyLine manage QEHS staff where applicableEnsure QEHS considerations are embedded into operational and commercial decision-makingAbout YouEssential5+ years' experience in a senior QEHS / EHS / Quality role within manufacturing or recyclingStrong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001Experience managing audits, regulators and customer complianceSolid understanding of Irish environmental and health & safety legislationProven ability to take ownership, make informed decisions independently and drive tasks to completionComfortable operating in fast-paced production environmentsStrong organisational, communication and problem-solving skillsDesirableExperience implementing or maintaining ISO 50001Plastics or recycling industry backgroundLead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001)PackageCompetitive salary depending on experienceOpportunity to shape a critical leadership function in a growing sustainable manufacturing businessPension contributionLaya HealthcareLife AssuranceJob Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Bike to work schemeEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingWellness programWork Location: In person
