Working schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with some flexibility required.

About The Organisation
Vision Ireland's national sight loss agency, we are a not-for-profit charitable organization which provides support and services nationwide to people experiencing sight loss. We provide a variety of services to support and improve accessibility to people who are living with sight loss ranging from emotional support and counselling to employment support and rehabilitation training.
Our mission is to enable people who are blind and vision impaired to overcome barriers that impede their independence and participation in society.
We have over 130 Stores, 370 employees and 1,100 volunteers.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will primarily manage all aspects of the day to day financial operations of Vision Ireland Group including Services, Retail, Foundation, Forsight & Vision Sports companies. At times assistance may be sought for other tasks in the finance function as directed by the Chief Financial Officer of Vision Ireland.
Primary Tasks
Preparation of management accounts (including full balance sheet and profit and loss responsibility) on a monthly basis to deadlines
Reporting of actual versus budget versus prior year variance analysis as required
Reviewing financial performance with the relevant managers
Management Of Intercompany Account With Other Vision Ireland Companies
Fixed Asset Register maintenance including depreciation, additions, disposals etc
Year end Audit close off / liaison with auditors
Review reconciliations of bank accounts for the above companies
Assistance with budget setting each year
Ensure robust internal financial controls are enacted
Coordination of Bi-Monthly Payment file for supplier payments with Accounts Payable team
Sales Invoices for HSE
HSE Income tracking, monitoring and reconciliations
Working as part of a team with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Stock and other functional team members
VAT Management
Mandatory Experience
Must have a fully accredited professional accountancy qualification / be a member of accountancy professional body
A minimum of five years' post qualification experience and have at least three years relevant experience
Experience in using accounting software packages
Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
Works well in a team and can take direction
Systems focused with an eye on continued process improvement and process efficiencies
The ability to manage and prioritise own workload, and work with flexibility, reliability, and particular initiative to meet deadlines
Demonstrated relationship management skills and experience in working in a supportive manner
Excellent attention to detail, organisational, administrative and time management skills.
