This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy Orthopaedic and MSK service, managing a varied and rewarding caseload.
About the Role: The post is based in Monaghan Hospital, with a caseload comprising a mix of acute fractures and general musculoskeletal conditions.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy care, supporting recovery, rehabilitation, and safe discharge planning.
This role is ideal for a motivated Physiotherapist looking to consolidate and expand their experience in acute Orthopaedics and MSK Physiotherapy within a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities: Assess and treat patients with a range of acute fractures, orthopaedic injuries, and general MSK conditions.
Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to promote recovery, mobility, and functional independence.
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Contribute to discharge planning and onward referral to community or outpatient services as appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with CORU and HSE standards.
Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support student education and engage in ongoing professional development.
Essential Criteria BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy.
CORU registration (essential).
Experience or a strong interest in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous professional development.
Desirable Criteria Previous experience in an acute hospital or orthopaedic setting.
Experience managing patients with fractures or post-acute MSK injuries.
