Our organization is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Professional to join our team.
About the Role:
* This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in health and safety management, with a focus on promoting compliance with regulatory requirements and conducting risk assessments.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures, as well as conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure all necessary safety measures are in place.
* This role also involves providing health and safety training and inductions for new and existing staff, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
* The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
* A strong understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) is also essential, including its proper use, maintenance, and availability.
* Liaising with site management, contractors, and regulatory authorities is another key aspect of this role, requiring effective communication and coordination skills.
* Maintaining accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and inspections is also crucial, as is staying up-to-date with new legislation and best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is highly desirable.
* Professional certification in health and safety, such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH, is also required.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures is essential, as is at least 3 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction or a similar industry.
