Clinical Nurse Manager I - Ophthalmology Clinic and Pre/ Post op care in Day Procedure Suite Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent | Candidate Criteria: Qualifications Registration in the General Division of the live register of nurses kept by the NMBI Recognised Post Graduate Nursing Qualification in Ophthalmology (Desirable) Management training programme (Desirable) Experience Must have 5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
Evidence of experience in the care of ophthalmology patients.
Have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Experience in a nurse management role would be advantageous Experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable) Preceptorship experience (Desirable) The Purpose of This Role: The Clinical Nurse Manager I (CNMI) in the clinic and pre/post procedure suite plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing nursing staff within a designated unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to all patients.
The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 in the ophthalmology area is one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate.
Key Responsibilities: Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation, and review of care for service users according to BSHS standards in conjunction with the CNMII.
To manage the activities of the Ophthalmic services from initial consultation in clinic to pre assessment and discharge, liaising with consultants, nursing staff and all other health care professionals and support services.
Liaise with theatre CNMs in relation to the theatre ophthalmology service.
Managing staffing levels, fostering staff development, and promoting practice development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of the nursing team.
Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation, and review of care for patients according to BSHS standards.
Maintain compliance with safety protocols, policies, and best practices in patient care.
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
