Mechanical Design Engineer – Blanchardstown

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure technical compliance on all assigned projects.
* Ensure scope of works is completed for mechanical packages.
* Manage consultant selections and agree RACI matrices.
* Attend design team meetings, in person or via MSTF teams.
* Align the design programme with planning teams.
* Review client responsibility matrices and ensure alignment with the project/commercial team.
* Manage RIBA3‑5 design processes and procedures.
* Produce design management plans for projects.
* Implement Central engineering checklists on each project.
* Manage design for safe manufacturing assembly when required.
* Maintain trackers from start to handover: procurement schedule, technical submittal register (CSA), drawing register (CSA), RFI log, deviation tracker, lessons learned log, design change log.
* Monitor all schedules and trackers throughout the course of the assigned project.
* Carry out technical submittal and working drawing reviews with teams on a scheduled basis.
* Assist with workload on projects (technical submittals, drawing reviews, RFIs, etc.).
* Support project teams with better buying – review orders and secure the best price.
* Challenge consultants and Mercury teams to value engineer.
* Ensure compliance with ISO19650 requirements.
* Produce reports for assigned projects and issue to direct manager at agreed intervals.
* Assist with tenders for new projects when required.
* Assist the estimating department and civil‑construction team at agreed intervals.
* Help set up the value engineering log for the DC&BS group.
* Perform any other design‑related tasks requested by the direct line manager.
* Attend Central Engineering stage 5 weekly model review meeting.
* Ensure the project undergoes a lessons‑learned review at design stage.
* Coach graduate engineers on projects: tech sub preparation, drawing production, RFI issuance, client interaction.
* Attend site visits within Europe and Central Engineering F2F meetings as required.
Essential Criteria
* Third‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Design Engineering.
* 3+ years of experience working on large industrial plant projects.
* Proficiency in a related Mechanical Design package/software.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Pride in the quality and presentation of work.
* Must be able to work from our Dublin Headquarters.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working on datacentres would be an advantage but not essential.
