The CNM is very influential in the management and delivery of care.
CNMs in nursing homes have a responsibility to manage the care and the care plans of each individual resident and in do this the CNM must not only understand the needs of the individual resident, the CNM must also guide, supervise and monitor the work of the care assistants.
The CNM on duty must provide strong leadership and must be in total control of the care delivery process.
There is a responsibility on CNMs to ensure that they are up to date on the various aspects of providing care to older people.
