BD is hiring a dynamic Product Security Engineer Lead to build and lead a high-performing security team within the RCI division, ensuring BD's medical technologies remain secure, resilient, and globally compliant. This leadership role combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical oversight, driving security strategy, fostering innovation, and aligning resources with business and regulatory priorities. The position influences product architecture, promotes secure development practices, and collaborates across engineering, regulatory, and quality teams to safeguard patient safety, protect data, and uphold BD's reputation as a global leader in secure healthcare solutions.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a high-performing team of cybersecurity engineers.
* Develop a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking team culture.
* Prioritise resources effectively to meet strategic and business goals.
* Drive technical and security skill development through coaching, training, and hands‑on guidance.
* Define and execute a multi‑year product security roadmap aligned with BD's enterprise cybersecurity strategy.
* Establish indicators to measure product security maturity, vulnerability trends, and team performance.
* Collaborate with executive leadership, legal, and regulatory teams to communicate risk posture and strategic priorities.
* Provide technical guidance across secure product architecture and vulnerability management.
* Lead the development and execution of BD's product cybersecurity strategy in alignment with BD's quality process, global standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure integration of security‑by‑design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
* Work closely with the post‑market vulnerability team.
* Oversee development and deployment of security patches and mitigations for fielded products.
* Partner with product management and customer support to ensure timely and transparent communication of security issues.
* Ensure compliance with FDA, EU MDR, and other global regulatory expectations for post‑market cybersecurity.
* Partner with R&D, software engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to embed cybersecurity into development workflows.
* Act as a key stakeholder in design reviews, risk assessments, and incident response planning.
* Evaluate emerging threats and technologies to enhance product security proactively.
* Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, IEC 62443, FDA, EU MDR).
* Stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies to enhance product security proactively.
* Assure consistency with BD development policies and software quality procedures.
About You
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* 8+ years of experience in product cybersecurity, ideally within medical devices or regulated industries.
* Proven experience in team leadership, technical oversight, and strategic planning.
* Strong understanding of secure development practices, threat modeling, and regulatory compliance.
* Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
Additional Skills
* Experience with embedded systems, IoT, and cloud‑connected devices.
* Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Salary Range: €92,100.00 – €156,600.00 EUR Annual
