Job Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and motivated
CAD Technician
to join a dynamic engineering and construction team based in
Cork
. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings and supporting design teams on a variety of civil infrastructure and utilities projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil, structural, and utility works.
* Work closely with engineers, site teams, and project managers to develop construction and as-built drawings.
* Update and revise existing drawings to reflect design changes and site modifications.
* Assist in the preparation of drawings for planning submissions, tender documents, and construction packages.
* Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations, and internal quality procedures.
* Maintain drawing registers and document control in line with project requirements.
* Coordinate with other departments and disciplines to ensure consistency and integration of design data.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and other relevant CAD software.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a CAD Technician role within a civil, utilities, or construction environment.
* Familiarity with civil engineering drawings, including drainage, water, road, and utility layouts.
* Good understanding of technical standards, drawing conventions, and construction methods.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Desirable:
* Experience with 3D modelling software (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit).
* Knowledge of BIM processes or experience working in a BIM environment.
* Familiarity with Irish Water and local authority standards.
* Formal qualification in CAD or a related discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering Technician).
