We are seeking a dynamic
Construction Project Director
with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team near Cork, Ireland.
You'll oversee multiple EPCMV project teams' day-to-day execution within the Central region.
Your focus will be on supporting EPCMV and CM services sales, overseeing the detailed execution of projects from initiation to close-out, staff development, and operational performance.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day execution of multiple EPCMV project teams in the Central region.
Support EPCMV and CM services sales; oversee the detailed execution of projects from initiation to close-out; develop staff; monitor operational performance.
Lead construction project teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget.
Projects will range from tenant improvements to major manufacturing facilities.
Guide project delivery teams, establish goals and execution plans, and monitor performance.
Oversee the development of contracts, subcontracts, estimates, and budgets.
Regularly review project performance with PMs and resolve project cost, schedule, or quality issues.
Provide day-to-day direction of all project-specific Project Delivery group operations, including preconstruction, estimating, procurement, project management, construction site management, and construction-site safety.
Direct the change management process, providing work-in-place analysis with the project services group.
Team leadership and development
Hire, train, and develop project delivery staff; conduct site visits as needed to monitor construction progress.
Develop new business, work with senior leadership on proposals and presentations, and help grow our presence in the Central region.
Act as a secondary point of contact for PMs with clients.
Collaborate with preconstruction, project controls, procurement, quality, and safety by allocating resources; identify and mitigate project risks in partnership with senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
15+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline, including leadership roles.
Experience managing multi-million-dollar construction projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in other areas of life sciences, including construction of pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.
Safety
This position requires approximately 25% travel, or as project needs dictate.
You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
Overnight travel or staying in the client location city is possible depending on assignment.
You will visit client sites and must adhere to stated safety rules.
This position is a safety-sensitive position.
The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for field work for IPS employees or subcontractors.
