Job Overview
The Transport Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth of our organisation. This position is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient dispatch of routes, monitoring daily driver schedules, and analysing performance to meet customer expectations.
This role requires a flexible, hardworking, and honest individual with good people-management skills and I.T experience. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing high-volume distribution operations.
* Dispatch all routes in an orderly and timely manner
* Monitor daily driver schedules and report on an hourly basis
* Analyse performance and meet/exceed customer expectations
* Coach and motivate team members to ensure concerns are managed appropriately
* Identify and deliver training needs to drivers
* Ensure company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and safely operated
* Lead by example and apply company policies consistently
* 3-5 years relevant management/supervisory experience in a high-volume distribution operation
* Competent in using IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Good working knowledge of Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Working Time Directive etc.)
* Experience participating in investigations/disciplinary actions
* Ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver exceptional service
* Ability to plan and organise work activities efficiently
* Ability to analyse and interpret business data
