You'll co-create a unified product strategy that showcases premium journalism, drives user engagement, and balances/consolidates similar platforms (e.g., ePaper and digital apps) while fostering strong relationships across Editorial, Technology, Data, and Commercial teams.
Reporting to the Group CIO with a dotted line to Editorial leadership.
Key Responsibilities Define and evolve a shared product vision and roadmap for group-wide digital platforms, informed by user insights, analytics, industry trends, and stakeholder input.
Lead collaboration with Editorial, Commercial, Analytics, UX, and Engineering to ensure transparency, alignment, and commercial viability.
Stay ahead of best-in-class apps and emerging trends in publishing and B2C digital media, applying learnings to enhance content discovery and consumption.
Partner with Editors to align digital products with journalistic values and goals.
Work with Analytics to establish evidence-based decision-making and measure impact on engagement metrics.
Collaborate with UX Design to champion user-centric principles and data-driven improvements.
Ensure technical feasibility and delivery cadence with PMO and Engineering teams.
Prioritise backlog transparently to progressively realise the long-term vision while delivering incremental value.
Key Requirements Proven product management experience in digital media, journalism, publishing, or consumer-facing digital products.
Track record delivering high-quality mobile apps and web platforms with exceptional user experience.
Expert knowledge of audience trends, B2C digital channels, and formats in news/information products.
Strong ability to build trust and influence complex stakeholder groups (Editorial, Commercial, Tech, Data).
Deep understanding of agile development, innovation, and leveraging data/analytics for engagement.
Outstanding communication, lateral leadership, and prioritisation skills.
Commitment to user-centric design and understanding of threats/opportunities from AI and evolving search.
