Location Requirement
This role is based in Donegal. Candidates must either currently reside within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate to the area. This is a site-based role requiring flexibility and a strong local presence to support operational response times.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a fleet of Enercon wind turbines (E44, E48 and E70).
This is a hands-on, operational role focused on turbine availability, fault response, and the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Fault Response
Carry out scheduled servicing in line with OEM and internal procedures
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
Perform advanced fault-finding activities on Enercon platforms
Support major component replacements and corrective maintenance activities
Proactively identify issues to prevent failures and reduce downtime
Enercon-Specific Responsibilities
Carry out software updates and uploads in line with OEM requirements
Undertake advanced fault diagnostics on Enercon systems
Support or perform HV switching operations where authorised
Apply platform-specific knowledge to maximise turbine performance and reliability
Operational Delivery
Deliver work to a high technical standard with a strong focus on turbine availability
Ensure all work is completed efficiently and in line with planning requirements
Maintain accurate service and fault records
Safety & Compliance
Work in full compliance with WTSR and all site safety rules
Follow safe systems of work at all times
Identify, manage and report risks within the working environment
Inventory & Asset Management
Manage local spares, consumables and tooling
Ensure materials required for work are available and properly controlled
Communication & Reporting
Accurately complete all reporting and documentation in line with company systems
Provide clear updates to the Regional Manager and wider team
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Proven experience working within the wind industry
Strong experience on Enercon turbines (E44, E48 and E70 essential)
Time-served electrical or mechanical engineer (or equivalent qualification)
Experience in servicing, fault finding and repairing wind turbine generators
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of safe systems of work, including WTSR
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
Comfortable working at height and in outdoor environments
Full clean driving licence
Highly Desirable (Advantageous)
Enercon-specific training and certifications
Experience with software uploads and configuration changes
Experience or authorisation for HV switching operations
Experience working on Vestas and/or Gamesa wind turbine platforms
Multi-skilled background (electrical and mechanical)
