At Abrivia, we are working with a forward-thinking organisation seeking a Cybersecurity Lead to take ownership of its cybersecurity operations. This is a hands-on, leadership-level role responsible for shaping and executing the cybersecurity strategy across all technology systems. The successful candidate will join a close-knit IT team, playing a vital role in refining existing systems, identifying security gaps, and ensuring the organisation is resilient against emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a robust cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Lead vulnerability assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
* Oversee security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
* Manage patching, compliance, and security audits across all systems.
* Respond to incidents and develop proactive response and recovery plans.
* Drive internal cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience
* 5+ years in cybersecurity, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior position.
* Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
* Hands-on experience with security technologies and threat detection tools.
* Excellent communication skills; able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Proven ability to work autonomously in a small IT team environment.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) and knowledge of GDPR and cloud security are a strong advantage.
