Your new companyThis client is a busy, multi-disciplinary architectural practice operating across Architecture, Education, and Consulting. The company is recognised nationally for its work in low-energy and sustainable design, with expertise in Passive House, NZEB, and the emerging ZEB standard. Based in County Wicklow, the practice continues to grow and is now seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join the team.Your new roleAs Senior Architect, you will take a leadership role across multiple new-build and refurbishment projects. You will mentor junior team members, oversee design quality, interpret client briefs, and ensure adherence to planning and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and a passion for sustainable design.Key Responsibilities:Act as an innovative designer with a strong focus on sustainability and low-energy principles.Review consultant plans, drawings, and technical reports.Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the Irish planning system.Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with relevant health & safety and building regulations.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering disciplines, construction materials, and application methods.Oversee and support the work of other Architects; organise workshops where needed.Provide guidance to subcontractors and assist them in interpreting design specifications.Liaise with clients to ensure issues are resolved promptly and project requirements are fully met.Support a collaborative team environment, ensuring goals and targets are consistently achieved.Mentor newly qualified Architects, supporting their design development and industry learning.Network and collaborate with a broad range of industry professionals.What you'll need to succeedBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.RIAI registration (or eligibility).Strong portfolio and 10+ years' experience in Ireland or the UK.Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Highly analytical, detail-focused, and capable of handling constructive feedback.Ability to work to tight deadlines and, when required, undertake occasional overtime.Commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.What you'll get in returnOpportunity to join a recognised leader in sustainable and low-energy design.Meaningful involvement in high-quality architectural projects.Professional development and mentorship opportunities within an experienced team.Collaborative and progressive practice environment.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Ireland is a trading division of Hays Specialist Recruitment (Ireland) Limited and acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
