About the Role
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for solving complicated problems by applying electrical principles. In addition, this position ensures compliance with safety standards through research on new applications and overseeing current applications.
What You’ll Do
Managing power generation, transmission, and distribution
Working with high and low voltage equipment
Designing systems and products using computer software
Working with renewable energy sources
Managing and maintaining building services, such as lighting, heating, ventilation and lift systems
Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical developments
Drawing up project plans, making models, prototypes and circuit diagrams for high and low voltage electrical equipment
Budgeting and estimating timescales
Testing installations and systems
Ensuring projects meet safety regulations
Overseeing inspection and maintenance programmes
Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products
Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards
Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time
Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
Perform quality and performance analysis on new and legacy IT systems
Summarize data and report on test results
Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets
Monitor maintenance and inspection plans
Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of power generation, transmission, and high/low voltage systems.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and testing electrical systems and equipment.
Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
Proficiency in electrical design and calculation software.
Experience working with or supporting automated manufacturing equipment and industrial systems.
Ability to manage engineering projects, including budgeting, estimating, and delivery to timelines.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in performance and quality analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused, with strong documentation and reporting capability.
