We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join the team in Glasson Lakehouse. If you are passionate about exceptional customer service and have previous experience in a busy hotel then we would love to hear from you

Key Areas

* Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to ensure all facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented
* Supporting preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment
* Responding promptly and professionally to guest and staff maintenance requests
* Upholding safety standards and compliance with health and safety regulations
* Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent guest experience

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and presentation of The Hotel. This position is responsible for day-to-day repairs, preventative upkeep, and assisting with larger maintenance projects.

Working closely with the Maintenance Manager or Group Facilities Manager to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standard, creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

Role Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance and Repairs

* Assist with general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and repairs
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to identify and resolve issues
* Ensure maintenance requests are completed efficiently, maintaining the hotel's quality and safety standards

Preventative Maintenance

* Support scheduled preventative maintenance programs to minimize repair needs and disruptions
* Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to identify areas for proactive upkeep
* Assist in maintaining hotel assets and systems for optimal performance

Guest Service and Response

* Respond quickly and courteously to guest maintenance requests to minimize inconvenience
* Maintain a professional and approachable manner when dealing with guests and colleagues

Safety and Compliance

* Follow all safety protocols and comply with health and safety regulations
* Identify and report safety hazards, taking or arranging corrective action when necessary
* Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards

Team Collaboration and Support

* Work closely with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to address maintenance needs promptly
* Support larger repair projects, renovations, or hotel upgrades as directed by management
* Assist with onboarding and training of new maintenance staff

Inventory Management

* Monitor and maintain stock levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
* Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained, safely stored, and ready for use

Preferred Experience & Skills

* Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in hospitality
* Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
* General handyman skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
* Health and safety awareness
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities
* Flexibility to handle urgent or unexpected maintenance issues
