PharmacyStore is an Irish-owned community pharmacy group with 5 stores, over 60 employees, and strong ambitions to continue to grow. We are situated in the local communities we serve and understand the importance of what we deliver to our customers and their families. The role is based in Southside Pharmacy, Limerick city. A Pharmacy Technician is a key member of the team, providing excellent customer and patient care in accordance with the Pharmacy Technician qualification and requirements. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Professional Practice:
* Understand pharmacy practices and procedures, including laws and ethics of dispensing.
* Operate within PSI controls and regulations.
* Maintain accurate computer records and ensure paperwork for schemes is up to date and in line with company procedures.
* Maintain good stock control, including rotation, appropriate stock levels, correct suppliers, and accurate delivery details as directed by the managing pharmacist.
* Ensure the dispensary's standards and cleanliness are maintained according to SOPs.
* Operate all schemes aligned with requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
* Be aware of the scope of the Pharmacy Technician role and circumstances requiring referral.
Supply of Medicines:
* Receive, record, and assemble prescriptions; issue receipts and collaborate with the Pharmacist on complexities or changes.
* Provide over-the-counter medicines, recommending suitable options and referring to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
* Ensure accuracy in dispensing by monitoring, reviewing, and acting to minimize errors.
Customer Service:
* Deal with customers professionally and efficiently, maintaining the standards of PharmacyStore.
* Escalate issues to the Duty Manager when necessary.
* Suggest improvements to customer service where possible.
* Assist with over-the-counter sales and front-of-counter duties.
* Recognize the importance of good customer service for business success.
Organisation & Training:
* Build strong relationships within the pharmacy team to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Participate in training and development programs, taking initiative in role development.
* Support ongoing qualification, training, and competence development.
* Enhance knowledge in scheme requirements.
* Communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels.
* Take ownership of specific projects or initiatives.
* Collaborate as part of the team, providing support as needed.
Business Acumen:
* Understand the pharmacy business and the role of the Pharmacy Technician within PharmacyStore Group.
* Support other locations as needed.
* Be aware of the financial impact of decisions and actions.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
* Pharmacy experience of 3+ years (preferred).
* Strong customer focus.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
