Financial Support Specialist Job Description
We are seeking an experienced financial support specialist to join our team in Sligo. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a financial role and be proficient in the use of accounting systems.
* Key Responsibilities:
o Process high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring they are correctly coded and authorised.
o Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery dockets.
o Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs via EFT.
o Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
o Serve as primary point of contact for all supplier account queries.
* Additional Financial Functions:
o Generate customer invoices and issue monthly statements.
o Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts accurately.
o Manage credit control process, including proactively contacting customers regarding overdue payments.
o Maintain debtors' ledger and resolve customer account queries in a timely manner.
* Administrative Duties:
o Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
o Support senior financial staff with month-end procedures and reporting.
o Assist in preparation of VAT returns.
o Process staff expense claims.
o Maintain organised and accurate financial records and filing systems.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a financial role.
* An Accounting Technician (IATI) qualification or part-qualification would be an advantage.
* Proficient in the use of accounting systems.
* Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
