Job Overview
The Department Head plays a pivotal role in guiding and supporting a department to achieve exceptional results. This position reports to the Deputy Manager and is responsible for driving a culture of excellence within the team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Creating an engaging environment that fosters collaboration and motivation among colleagues
* Ensuring team members are adequately trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively
* Developing a culture of open communication and trust
* Cultivating and managing a high-performing team to deliver daily objectives and meet customer needs
* Analyzing data and systems to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions that benefit customers and colleagues
* Implementing sustainable practices to minimize food waste, including effective date code management and ensuring only fit-for-consumption products are sold
* Selecting and recruiting talented individuals who share our passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
* Overseeing stock control activities, warehouse layout, and processes to ensure seamless operations
* Investigating and resolving issues related to pricing accuracy, overcharges, refunds, and label discrepancies
* Optimizing front-end operations to minimize customer wait times
* Recognizing and addressing outstanding service, as well as addressing subpar performance
Key Qualifications:
* Demonstrated track record of delivering results-driven initiatives with a focus on customer satisfaction
* Adept at adapting to changing circumstances and prioritizing tasks efficiently
* Proven ability to drive key objectives in fast-paced environments
* Prior retail experience in a similar leadership role is preferred
