Care Worker - Sligo & LeitrimThe Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.Our vision is an Ireland where people on the journey of dementia are valued and supported.A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core.The ASI is currently recruiting for a Care worker who will work in assigned family homes in Sligo, Leitrim and surrounding areas for Sligo Daycare at Home Services with offices based in Aughamore Day Care Centre, LakeView Business Park, Aughamore, Sligo, F91XW54.This is a permanent contract of employment working 12 hours per week. The successful candidate will also be required to work relief hours for all service in Sligo and Leitrim as the need arises.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia in the client's own home. You will need good communication and organizational skills and be able to work on your own initiative.To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activates with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.Candidates in this area must have a full clean driving license and access to a car to be considered for this role.A FETAC level 5 is desirable.
