The Grounds Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of outdoor grounds and landscaped areas. This includes mowing, trimming, planting, watering, pruning, and performing general grounds maintenance to ensure an attractive and well-kept environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Mow, edge, trim, and water lawns, fields, and other landscaped areas.
· Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass to enhance property appearance.
· Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
· Remove debris, leaves, litter, and weeds from grounds, walkways, and parking areas.
· Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers.
· Perform minor maintenance or repair tasks on outdoor structures (benches, fences, signs, etc.).
· Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
· Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions.
Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of lawn care, plant care, and basic landscape maintenance.
· Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
· Physical stamina to lift up to 25kgs and perform outdoor duties in varying weather conditions.
Working Conditions
· Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions.
· May involve exposure to chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment.
· May require weekend, evening, or seasonal overtime work.
Requirements
· Driving Licence:Category B (Full & Clean)
· Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
