Job Purpose
The Store Manager provides overall leadership and supervision to the entire staff of the restaurant to ensure that the restaurant meets or exceeds the targets established for the store. The Store Manager directly supervises assistant managers, training coordinators, and staff at the unit level. The Store Manager conducts business daily as if acting as an individual owner of his/her particular shop. Support from the area manager is given when needed to facilitate alignment of goals with those of the overall company, however, the Store Manager largely dictates the specific shop leadership. Key functions include budgeting, staffing, training, community involvement, inventory control, and labor control.
The Job
* Coaches, counsels, and develops Assistant and Trainee managers into a self-sufficient team to build high sales and profits.
* Responds to requests from head office departments.
* Leads recruitment, selection, training, development, and HR planning.
* Engages in community activities to generate business and goodwill.
* Handles employee relations and customer complaints with significant business impact.
* Plans and prioritizes effectively.
* Operates within legal guidelines.
* Adapts to new procedures, standards, and legislative changes.
* Conducts timely in-house appraisals and develops personnel plans.
* Maintains professionalism, especially in public interactions.
* Refers media inquiries to the Area Manager/Marketing Director.
* Understands customer profiles and targets the market accordingly.
* Is flexible with working hours, including weekends and nights.
* Achieves targets related to food costs, labor costs, customer numbers, and quality scores.
Leadership
Supervises and coordinates staff work efficiently, delegates appropriately, and remains calm in difficult situations. Provides clear direction, leads by example, and motivates staff to achieve restaurant goals. Promotes quality food, systems, and service, and fosters a customer satisfaction culture.
Work Environment
Fast-paced and demanding, requiring physical stamina due to business volume and operational demands. Extended periods of standing and activity are common.
Integrity
Communicates openly and honestly, aligns actions with words, seeks feedback, admits mistakes, and maintains high ethical standards, even under pressure.
