About the role

EPAM is seeking a technically hands-on Senior Microservices Architect to work with a well-known client in Ireland. The architect will analyze legacy monoliths and existing microservices, creating a roadmap for a domain-driven microservices approach to support current and future programs.
The primary focus will be on services supporting mobile journeys, such as identity, claims, analytics, consent, policy, and payments. The role includes collaboration with an Integration Architect, facilitating workshops, building client relationships in Dublin bi-weekly or monthly, and working in a hybrid environment of home and office.
This is an excellent opportunity to engage with EPAM’s senior tech leaders, global architects, and client teams. The architect must be capable of initiating discussions, identifying technological needs, recommending solutions, and effectively communicating and delivering results.
Responsibilities
1. Identify, analyze, and develop a roadmap for a domain-driven microservices approach, understanding existing legacy systems.
2. Define critical domains for the client’s journey.
3. Collaborate with the Integration Architect to ensure seamless service integration.
4. Recommend modernization strategies for legacy services within the existing architecture.
5. Facilitate stakeholder workshops to promote understanding of microservices transition.
6. Document architectural designs, decisions, and roadmaps for future reference.
7. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in software development, with expertise in service-oriented architecture and microservices.
* Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns, especially microservices and domain-driven design.
* Experience with legacy monolith systems, modernization approaches, integration patterns, and AWS.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and facilitate workshops.
