School Caretaker Role
Maintaining a school's premises and grounds is a vital responsibility that requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills. As a School Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring the school is safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Security: Ensure the school is secure after classes, examinations, events, or functions by checking locks, alarms, and other safety systems.
* Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds, and equipment to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
* Health and Safety: Complete health and safety documentation, comply with legislative requirements, and supervise fire safety apparatus and implement fire regulations.
* Cleaning and Waste Management: Supervise cleaning staff, manage waste disposal, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
* Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform various ad-hoc tasks as required, such as painting, decorating, and minor building work.
You will work closely with ancillary staff, the Principal, and Deputy Principal to achieve these goals. Adaptability, flexibility, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Previous experience in a school setting and health & safety training are highly desirable.
