Job Description
As a Senior Claims Analyst, you will take ownership of a defined portfolio of reinsurance claims, overseeing their end-to-end handling—from analysis and monitoring to processing and reporting. This is a high-impact role that requires a mix of analytical thinking, technical skill, and cross-functional collaboration.
About the role:
* Claims Analysis: Conduct claim analysis for treaty and facultative reinsurance claims, assess exposures, and establish appropriate reserves.
* Loss Management: Check and register loss advices, cash-loss requests, and technical accounts within the assigned portfolio.
* Proactive Information Gathering: Actively identify and obtain necessary information.
* Claims Administration: Manage claims within departmental systems, including electronic document management.
* Data Quality Checks: Participate in regular data quality checks.
* Data Analysis: Analyze claims data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
* Reporting: Prepare and organize data for management reports on a daily, weekly, or quarterly basis, ensuring proper communication of developments and issues to internal business partners.
* Internal Collaboration: Interact with underwriters, actuaries, and accounting teams across different locations on claims-related matters.
* Client Correspondence: Analyze incoming loss information from clients and communicate with them accordingly.
* Special Projects: Assist with special projects or ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications
About you:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline. Master’s degree in related discipline is an asset.
* Experience: At least 10 years in claims administration with solid knowledge of (re)insurance.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and Word, with working knowledge of Power BI and a willingness to learn other tools.
* System Experience: Experience using the reinsurance data system SICS/nt and familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Power BI) and e-messaging formats (e.g., ACORD).
* Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (spoken and written). German language skills are considered an asset, particularly for understanding contract wordings and collaborating with local teams.
