We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our dynamic team On a longterm contract basis with the intent of a permanent position.
As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
* Construction and Installation:
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
* Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures
* Material Selection:
* Select and procure appropriate materials for each project, considering factors such as cost, durability, and aesthetics.
* Measurement and Layout: Accurately measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using rulers, squares, or other measuring instruments.
* Tool Operation: Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, chisels, drills, and sanders, to complete projects.
* Problem-solving: Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction or installation, adapting plans as necessary.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols.
Skills Required:
* Relevant certification in carpentry.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
* Strong carpentry skills and knowledge of woodworking techniques.
* Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
