Food Safety Manager
Role Overview:
A Food Manufacturing company is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Manager to assist the Technical Manager in maintaining high standards of food safety and quality across all areas of production.
This role involves providing support in implementing, managing and auditing Food Safety Management Systems in accordance with current legislation and prescribed standards. You will lead an internal HACCP team, manage supplier and product approval protocols, and ensure alignment of the management team with food safety objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a science or food science qualification, at least 3 years' experience in technical quality management, and knowledge of HACCP and food safety management systems. They should be able to implement and manage QMS, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and hold a full driver's license and access to their own car.
Responsibilities include conducting audits, resolving issues, ensuring site hygiene and pest control standards are maintained, and keeping food safety training up-to-date. The successful candidate will also ensure satisfactory resolution of operational issues and consumer complaints.
Key Requirements:
- Science/Food Science Qualification
- Min 3 years technical Quality management experience
- HACCP/Food Safety Management systems knowledge
- Experience in implementing and managing QMS
- Flexibility, quick learner, problem solver, good communication and good organisational skills
