My client, a market-leading product company, is looking for a seasoned Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Spring, AWS, and DevOps environments. You will be responsible for the development of their leading SaaS platforms which help their customers to bring products to market faster and more securely. You will have extensive software development experience across a broad range of technologies and be comfortable advising and mentoring your colleagues to create a high-performing team.
Lead Software Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain high-quality code with sufficient test coverage.
2. Contribute to planning for more effective cloud architecture.
3. Participate in Code Reviews to refine design decisions.
4. Keep track of emerging technologies and drive a culture of continual innovation, driving towards the build of a robust software product.
5. Act as a mentor to junior developers, helping with training and onboarding as required.
6. Monitor code performance and application security and identify/address risks within the software architecture.
7. Provide insights on the strategic vision of the software development process, liaising with management and the wider team.
Lead Software Engineer - Required Experience:
8. 12+ years' experience of hands-on Software Development, with experience operating as a Team Lead.
9. Extensive experience in Java, Spring, Hibernate, and AWS.
10. Strong experience in mentoring and upskilling developers across different levels of seniority.
11. Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks/associated technologies such as,, Vanilla, jQuery.
12. Experience in database technologies: MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB etc.
13. Experience of modern DevOps practices.
14. Experience running critical production systems in Linux or Unix environments.
15. Experience in wider technologies such as: CSS, Kibana, Docker, Python, Kafka.
16. Application Security experience using OAuth, SAML, or LDAP.
