Role description: We are seeking a Senior Staff Applications Verification Engineer for our IC product line at Vishay Siliconix Ireland, Cork. You will collaborate with applications, verification, design, firmware, and systems teams to ensure our power devices are robust, compliant, and ready for volume production.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and oversee pre-silicon hardware emulation and IC evaluation plans.
* Design verification IP compatible across UVM pre-silicon environments, FPGA emulation, and final silicon.
* Evaluate system performance for IC tapeouts.
* Deliver comprehensive hardware emulation test plans prior to tapeouts.
* Benchmark FPGA and IC applications against customer specs.
* Create methodologies ensuring high data discipline, robustness, and repeatability.
* Automate lab processes for instrument control, data collection, and analysis.
* Design and maintain hardware platforms supporting IC designs.
* Conduct protocol compliance testing for proprietary digital interfaces.
* Plan, track, and report project milestones and progress.
* Manage projects with structured issue tracking and reporting.
Candidate Profile
You should have a strong background in power semiconductors, electronics engineering, or related fields, with a logical approach to tasks and a creative mindset. Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams and with manufacturing partners are essential.
Minimum Qualifications
* PhD or postgraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
* Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
* Knowledge of power conversion and design evaluation plans.
* Experience with HW emulation for pre-silicon verification.
* Development of FPGA-based verification plans supporting UVM.
* Deep understanding of power systems and optimization techniques.
* Strong debugging, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
* Experience supporting product applications and customer issues.
* Organized, with excellent planning and communication skills.
* Ability to work in diverse roles and environments.
* Familiarity with IC development cycles and cross-functional teamwork.
* Mentoring skills for less experienced team members.
